In order to share with the agricultural ecosystem the results of the program of demonstration platforms dedicated to olive cultivation for the 2021/2022 campaign, Al Moutmir organized a webinar on February 27, 2023 as part of the 11th edition of Al Moutmir Open Innovation Lab. 

In total, more than 1270 olive tree demonstration platforms have been installed during the 2021/2022 crop year. These platforms, spread over the different agricultural provinces of Morocco, have concerned all varieties present in Morocco and the different modes of conduct (Bour, gravity irrigation and localized irrigation) in the different production areas of the kingdom.

This meeting was marked by the presence of more than 100 participants: institutions, scientists, interprofession, cooperatives, associations and farmers. 

Despite the difficult climatic conditions during the campaign 2021-2021, the demonstration platforms for the cultivation of olive have shown an increase in average yield per hectare of nearly 17% compared to the yields observed at the control plots of farmers.  The national average yield of the PFDs was 3.7 t/ha with a record of 18 t/ha recorded in the platforms managed under drip irrigation in intensive system against a national average yield of more than 3.1 t/ha at the control plots.
