In July 2019, OCP set up an exchange and sharing platform called Al Moutmir Open Innovation Lab. This initiative is part of the exchange dynamic initiated by OCP with the various actors involved in the development of the agricultural sector in our country. The objective is to explore innovative models for the dissemination and sharing of scientific and technical knowledge with farmers. Several gatherings are planned throughout the year tackling different themes: demonstration platforms, women in rural areas, youth and attractiveness of the rural environment, cooperatives capacity building, etc.
Al Moutmir Souks and Moussems sets out to meet farmers in the souks (rural markets) and moussems (rural festivals), crucial crossroads where farmers share their agricultural concerns. It seeks to support them before the launch of each crop cycle. Several mobile trucks visit the weekly souks as well as the most important Moussems in order to identify farmers' needs and assist them in their decision-making as far as the choice of inputs and agricultural practices are concerned.
Al Moutmir mobile program is a device that criss-cross Morocco and supports the daily work of agronomists. It includes extension workshops, individual feedback sessions on soil testing results, in addition to meetings with our fertilizer manufacturers, distributors and retailers, Smart Blender demonstrations and question/answer sessions animated by experts.
No-till farming or zero tillage is an agricultural production system that consists of sowing without prior tillage. One of the three fundamental pillars of conservation agriculture, no-till farming preserves the soil and its microbial life as well as water stocks. The Al Moutmir no-till program aims at accelerating the adoption of this practice nationwide as a key lever of the agriculture new agro-ecological transition model in our country. Al Moutmir's objective is to significantly support this momentum to increase the resilience of agriculture to climate change.
